Our greatest asset is our people.
I value people for who they are—as individuals and as designers. This means respecting diverse perspectives and fostering an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing new ideas and giving honest feedback. It also means offering support when someone needs a little extra help, and building a culture where the team feels connected, safe, and supported by one another - so we can all do our best work.
It’s important the team is set-up for success:
that they have close relationships with their product and engineering partners, that they have clear goals, and that they are given time to validate design approaches with customers before we begin to build and as we continue to iterate. Its important that we bring customer insights into the process early and often and when gaps arise, I work closely with the team to close them —strategically and collaboratively.
I like to play to people’s strengths. People do their best work when they’re engaged, supported, and growing. I work with the team to create personalized development plans with clear goals and pathways. I help designers grow in the directions that matter most to them, while contributing meaningfully to the team’s goals. I’ve found great success with mentoring roles within the team, shared learning sessions, and team feedback sessions —all of which create space for individual growth and a cohesive and supportive team culture.
